Basic Weaving
This beginning weaving course is available to entry level students with little or no prior experience. The course addresses basic skills and the knowledge needed to complete simple woven projects on 4 shaft looms. Beyond the Basics

Instructors
Jolene Northup
Jolene moved to Central Oregon following her early retirement from a career in fabric design and merchandising. She started her career in Milwaukee Wisconsin as a designer of woven fabrics, progressed to knitted fabrics and then into merchandising and sales in New York City. She holds a BFA degree from the University of Wisconsin in Weaving studying under Dorothy Meridith. She has been weaving for over 30 years. Her current artistic interests involve the fusion of primitive art with woven structures. She is active in the Central Oregon Spinners and Weavers Guild and supervisor of the fiber arts exhibit at the Deschutes County Fair.
Patty Huffer
Patty Huffer received a degree in Home Economics, Physical Education, and Education from Central Washington University. Formerly of Roseburg, Oregon, and now of Redmond, Oregon, Patty has been weaving for over twenty years. She has been an active member and teacher in the Umpqua Weavers Guild and is currently active in the Central Oregon Spinners and Weavers Guild.
Studio
The Studio provides 1000 sq. ft of workspace including a lounge area, kitchen and restroom facilities in an open second floor loft. The Studio is located on the Crooked River Ranch in Central Oregon with views of Mt. Jefferson and the Three Sisters. Located away from the hustle and bustle of city life the setting provides a relaxing place to slowdown and concentrate on exploring the art of weaving. A variety of accommodations are available on "The Ranch" including a motel, RV parks, and a choice of homes for rent. The City of Redmond is just 25 minutes by car and offers a multitude of dining facilities in addition to those on The Ranch. For the casual RV'er, power and water are available for parking on the Studio property.
