My interest in fiber arts was sparked by my Grandmother while I was quite young. My earliest experiences were with knitting and crocheting and more so with sewing as I progressed into Junior High and took sewing courses. These experiences created a lifelong love for fibers and hand work.

I took a summer class in weaving following my graduation from College with degree in education. This began my 28 years of weaving and spinning, and my love of teaching others the fiber arts craft.

One of my current interests is the creation of "rag rugs", a sort of recycling of fibers with unique colors and textures. I love the way I can combine colored warps and the various colors and textures of fabrics which blend together to create a unique rug.

I am inspired by the people around me. There are new ideas coming from students and other weavers all the time. I do love to teach weaving and look forward to each person's joy when they see for the first time how a woven piece is constructed. I have experimented with many varieties of looms and threading complexities and am forever amazed at the variations than can be achieved with different yarns (natural and synthetic), and woven structures.
