Basic Weaving Course
The Basic Weaving course is designed for students new to weaving, those seeking a refresher on the basic techniques, or those just interested in exploring what weaving is all about. Each student will receive a course manual containing all the information covered in the class and upon completion of the course each will have compiled a notebook of samples for future reference. The course will cover:
- Introduction to the parts and function of the loom
- How to read a pattern draft
- How plan and design a project
- How to determine which yarns are appropiate for different types of projects
- Calculating the amount of warp and weft needed for a project
- Prepare a warp, and dress a 4 shaft loom for weaving
- The differences between loom controlled and weaver controlled techniques
- Finishing techniques
- Problem solving

Registration and Course Fees
Course Fee $390.00 which includes:
- Use of looms and equipment
- All materials
- A notebook with all the information covered in the course
- Open Studio time in addition to scheduled classes
- Lunch the first day
- Full use of the Studio kitchen
- Tea and Coffee provided
